Greenroot Farm

Greenroot Farm is comfort food. You inherit a run-down plot in a mountain valley and slowly turn it into a thriving little farm — planting crops, raising a few animals, and getting to know the nearby townsfolk. It borrows heavily from the classics of the genre but adds a nice seasonal weather system that changes what you can grow.

The daily rhythm is soothing: water your plants, chat with a neighbor, fish for a bit, sleep, repeat. There's no fail state, just gentle progress. I found myself opening it every morning almost like a ritual, which is exactly what a game like this should do.

Where it stumbles is variety — after a dozen hours the loop starts feeling familiar. But if you want something calm to unwind with, it delivers that in spades, and the townsfolk dialogue has genuine warmth.
